Environmental Policy
Glencross Cleaning Limited will endeavor where-ever possible to use equipment, chemicals and materials which minimize any possible adverse impact on the environment.
Equipment
Glencross Cleaning Limited strives to use state of the art equipment on all our sites that has minimum impact on the environment. We recognise the need to use energy efficient equipment that reduces emissions into the environment.
Consumables
Our chemical supplier has developed a range of products which helps to reduce ozone depletion and stop the pollution of our rivers and waterways. It also helps to reduce harm to wildlife and protect people from harmful and carcinogenic elements.
Recycling
In addition to helping reduce environmental degradation through the chemicals that we use, we also regard recycling as an important part of our business. Many of the other consumables that are supplied to us, such as paper towels, toilet rolls, black sacks are all recycled products.
Continuous Improvement
Glencross Cleaning Limited strives to provide as environmentally friendly as possible service, without compromise on quality and efficiency. We continually investigate new improved methods of cleaning through our Supplier's innovations, our own experience, and that of recent published articles.
Sustainability Policy
We appreciate that today everyone is concerned about acting responsibly; ensuring that the environmental interests of the wider community are respected. We have identified work systems and cleaning materials which achieve this aim.
Our Objectives
- To play our part in environmental management by actively encouraging economic use of resources, recycling of materials where appropriate and encouraging our suppliers to be as conscious of these aspects as we are ourselves.
- To contribute in every practical way to our client’s ambitions in respect of their agreed responsibilities to the local community.
To achieve this we will adhere to best practice in respect of the environment, sustainable procurement, and exercise our duty of care in the reduction of recognised hazards.
The following details the steps Glencross Cleaning has taken in respect providing environmentally sustainable products:
Sustainability
Sustainable development/procurement is a company wide philosophy that will require our attention throughout the life of the contract. The objectives of our policy percolate to all aspects of the services we are to provide and impact on how we run our business.
Many requirements are appropriately covered in the policies specifically focused on the individual aspects of sustainability i.e. procurement, waste management and environmental policies being examples. Our objective will be to examine all of these policies to ensure sustainability is appropriately woven in to their application.
We recognise the need to constantly review our compliance with sustainability through the processes we adopt in promoting our business. From the operational standpoint, building sustainability into the development of our strategies and solutions will be an integral part of our approach to business.
Recycling
In addition to helping reduce environmental degradation through the chemicals that we use, we also regard recycling as an important part of our business. We have selected recycled consumables where available, such as bags, paper, and cardboard and will continue to seek to expand this range during the contract period.
Waste Reduction
Waste reduction, is critical in our approach to managing the environmental issues emanating from the discharge of the cleaning service. We will strive to minimise packaging waste, overuse of materials and actively promote the efficient use of energy, water and in the correct use of consumables.
